The All-In-Wonder 9600 XT's package is finished off with the inclusion of Remote Wonder II. The remote can be used independently of All-In-Wonder graphics cards, but you lose a lot of features when you stray away from using an All-In-Wonder graphics board. The model is a rehash of the original Remote Wonder with more features and an increased range - the Remote Wonder II has a range of up-to 60 feet, which is double what the original Remote Wonder could handle. Both the original and the updated Remote Wonder transmit their signals via radio frequencies.

You can see that the devices have changed quite considerably, especially the receiver, which is now considerably larger and as aforementioned it has a double the range of the old model. The receiver also houses two small headphone jack style sockets. These have been added as ATI plan to release additional devices that can be connected to, and controlled by the Remote Wonder II.

The handset has also been changed. It now uses less power than its predecessor with there only being a requirement for 3 AAA batteries. The handset has had an increment in size; this may make it cumbersome for those with smaller hands. The buttons and navigation pad have also changed - they're now made from soft rubber which gives them a more user-friendly feel and the remote feels more like what you would expect from a standard television remote with the soft touch keys.

The navigation pad is very sensitive in comparison to the previous model and the left and right mouse buttons are now too far away from the pad that makes the only feasible way to operate the handset is to use two hands. We're pretty happy with the new device and it has a distinctively higher-quality feel to it.
